I'm glad you wrote this up Pauline. I was profoundly impressed in little old Johnsonville to have SIX 'eureka' moments from family historians finding their own ancestors in the 1892 Stones Wellington/North Island Directory and the 1886 Otago/Southland Directory. Imagine if we had all 40 directories available...

One other point we learned was that the searching was generating other listed names that weren't necessarily their first choice - thus improving their chances of discovering other family connections. Another was that when they looked in paper volumes in libraries they often found the foldout maps and some pages were torn and missing - needless to say we ensure completeness in the CD versions.
