Adrienne Martyn
In 2007 Adrienne joined NZMS as a Digitisation Technician for HMIF and NZMS. She came to NZMS from NZDF where she was the Inventory Photographer for the NZ Army. In 2006 she received her Master of Fine Arts (First Class Honours) degree majoring in photography from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland. For her MFA project she created a body of work that investigated the power of presentation in the display of art in galleries and museums. As a practicing artist she creates and exhibits conceptually based photographic projects - her solo exhibitions include Looking for the Subject shown at Wellington City Gallery in 2007 and Adrienne Martyn: Portraits which was mounted and toured by the Dunedin Public Art Gallery in 1988. Her current personal photographic project depicts seascapes and involves using analogue and digital technologies. Adrienne’s photographs are represented in museum collections including Te Papa Museum of New Zealand.
