Printing
The high resolution digital scans that we create for you can be printed with archival quality inks on to various materials including canvas, archival watercolour paper, modern photographic paper, or banner stock.
The printing process provides excellent colour accuracy and is ideal for fine art reproductions, exhibition printing, and facsimiles of maps, plans, posters and photographs. Recent work we have done includes photographic prints for the Partington Exhibition at the Whanganui Regional Museum and the reproduction of the Treaty of Waitangi which toured with the 2007-2008 Treaty2U Exhibition.
We also provide print services for on-line digital heritage collections, and can manage the full administration of client orders for prints on your behalf see example: http://feildingphotos.mdc.govt.nz/
Recently our long serving wide format printer decided it was time to give up on us, so we needed to find a suitable replacement and fairly quickly!
After much research we decided on the Epson Stylus Pro 9900, the latest in a long line of class leading Epson Wide Format Printers. Over the past couple of weeks the printer has been installed and tested along with an updated RIP software package.
We also took the oportunity to reassess the paper and media range we provide and have decided on some exciting new products.
This completely new combination of Printer, Inks, Media and Rip software has required us ( with the help of our supplier ) to create a new set of ICC profiles (these are special instructions to the Printing software that optimise Print quality for each paper we use.
This Fantastic Printer set up has already produced some absolutely stunning results.
