Museums Aotearoa

Museums Aotearoa, Te Tari o Ngā Whare Taonga o Te Motu, is the independent professional association for New Zealand’s museums and galleries and those who work for them.

NZMS are long-time dedicated supporters and members of Museums Aotearoa and regularly participate in their annual conference. We have loved working with Museums throughout New Zealand since 1990 and have grown a strong partnership with MA and the work they do.

The theme of Outside Insights into the sector was definitely upheld at this years’ Museum’s Aotearoa Conference. Repatriation of human remains, sexual and physical abuse, where science and art overlap, biculturalism, inclusiveness, youth leadership/transformation and, of course, Artificial Intelligence were all examined.
