NZ Micrographic Services (NZMS) is a leading specialist in the preservation, digitisation, and management of cultural heritage collections across Aotearoa. The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager oversees day-to-day business operations to optimise efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Operational Delivery: Lead the delivery of contracted services to customers for the Wellington based team.
  • Operational Efficiency: Implementing strategies to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
  • Process Improvement: Analysing data, KPIs, and operational performance to identify weaknesses and implement improvements.
  • Staff Management: Recruiting, managing performance, training, and mentoring staff, as well as overseeing productivity and quality achievement.
  • Technical Leadership: Ensure the equipment we use and supply to customers is installed, maintained and operated in line with industry requirements.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensuring products/services meet quality standards and that company activities comply with regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in an operations leadership role, preferably from the knowledge management sector or associated sectors such as printing or photography.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to lead and manage teams, delegate responsibilities, and drive change
  • Process Management: Ability to design, implement and manage operational processes and tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data and metrics to improve performance
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work across operations and sales teams nationally
  • Customer: Ability to interface at all levels with customers through sales and operational delivery.
  • Microsoft suite: Intermediate knowledge in Word, Excel, Teams
  • Adobe Suite: Proficient in Adobe applications for creating, editing, and managing documents and visual materials.
  • Experience using software platforms for collaboration e.g Zoho, SharePoint desirable.
